Cold Steel Roman Gladius Sword

The Roman Gladius is one of history’s most iconic weapons, and Cold Steel have created a fully functional interpretation that captures all the essential features of this legendary blade. Rather than a strict historical reproduction, this sword combines traditional gladius design with modern materials and craftsmanship.

The 20-inch blade is forged from high carbon steel with spring temper, giving it the durability to perform in real conditions. Both edges are fully sharpened to a fine mirror polish, while the long, sturdy point is designed for effective stabbing and piercing—true to the original’s combat purpose. At 8mm thick, the blade resists bending or breaking under use.

The handle is carved from Rosewood and decorated in classical style, measuring 8 inches for a comfortable grip. The sword comes with a functional leather-wrapped wood scabbard finished with solid brass fittings including throat, chape, and carrying rings.

This is a serious, battlefield-ready sword that doubles as a striking display piece. Overall length is 28 inches with a total weight of 42.6oz.
